Dear Students and Colleagues: The Department of Music at Brown University offers an M.A. degree in Computer Music and Multimedia Composition focusing on the analysis and production of original works exploring the use of digital music and sound in combination with video, text and performance. Our research interests are focused on the creative use of real-time audio and multimedia systems for music and video performances, interactive dance/theatre, internet performance and installations. Our primary work uses Max/MSP/Jitter with various sensing systems such as Icube, Very Nervous System and USB controllers. New to the program, beginning 2002-2003, we will offer coordinated courses and a visiting artist series with the Digital Media graduate program at the Rhode Island School of Design . For further information and application, see: http://www.brown.edu/Departments/Music/computer_grad.html Students without a music degree may apply to the program, but should have some experience in music, plus significant work in digital art or performance. ******************************************************************** Todd Winkler Director, Graduate Program in Computer Music and Multimedia Composition Chairman, Brown University Department of Music http://www.brown.edu/Departments/Music/faculty/winkler --============_-1174467877==_ma============-- ---------------------------------------- The Dance-Tech mailing list has recently moved to a new address.
