ChoreoGraph

Dear All,

We would like to thank everyone on this list who has sent us their
'expression of support' for our ambitious software-project 'ChoreoGraph'.

Unfortunately NESTA (a public funding body in the UK) decided to not support
the development of this 'software for choreographers'. This was a
considerable big application for a considerable amount of money. Therefore
our core funding for this project will not materialise.

After some time of consideration we have decided to finally give up the idea
of developing a 'publicly accessible software' to make space for other
projects and ideas. Barriedale Operahouse initiated this project in 1997 and
it is clearly time to move on.

We will however continue using our own customized pieces of software in our
future work. The next piece to utilize a new and (in all humbleness)
intriguing version of a 'dynamic choreographic engine' will be 'Einem' - a
short solo produced by Ballett Frankfurt, TQW and the ZKM. (artistic team:
Michael Klien, Volkmar Klien, Nick Rothwell, Nicole Peisl)

Once more we want to thank the many individuals on this list who have
GREATLY supported this project in various ways.

If - somewhere someone will appear some day who wants to support it - we
will let you know first.

All the Best,

Barriedale Operahouse team

PS: Choreograph.net - a place to brainstorm about the whereabouts of
contemporary choreography is developing nicely. It would be great if (1)
you'd join and (2) if you'd make friends, students, etc. aware of this
forum. www.choreograph.net/forum
