hello For those of you on the emerald isle... there is an opportunity to see a dance performance that incorporates animated imagery derived from 3-d motion capture. I asked Robert Connor (company co-director) how they gained access to the 3-d motion capture technologies to make the work -- given that I am so keen to see people from different fields working together -- his response is something I would like to pass on: "We worked with Dr. Kieran Moran at the Centre for Sports Science and Health at Dublin City University. He had installed a Vicon optical mocap system in June 2001 for gate and sports movement analysis. So there was a big learning curve to go from skeletal analysis to animation, but he was very interested and supported the project in a big way." best scott ************************************* ************************************* DANCE THEATRE OF IRELAND premiere PRISM Samuel Beckett Theatre, Trinity College Dublin 4 - 8 June @ 8 pm one week only plus matinee Saturday 8 June @ 3pm Tickets: 01 608 2461 dance, music and motion-captured animation, in a beautifully human way "...arguably the most respected troupe in the Country."
