Bonemap maintains a research and development facility in remote North Eastern Australia (World Heritage Wet Tropics and Great Barrier Reef Marine Park) where invited artists (so far from S.E.Asia and Pacific Islands) can work with the diversity of the community and principal Bonemap artists in developing ideas / networks. Our principal artists are well connected to digital arts / dance / visual arts within a broader Australian context and are developing deeper links with a global network with each project. At present we are researching the idea that: Just as the necessity for feminist and postcolonial theories to have decentred and changed our perceptions of gender politics, culture and responsibility; so is an urgency for an ecological paradigm to change our understanding of the ethics and processes creative media deploys in developing perceptions. regards russell
