Hi .....this might be of use for some Technical Skills Labs: for Creative Practitioners at the ICA, The Mall, London Do you want to create technology-based installations, sculptures or performances? The Technical Skills Lab can provide practical support and advice in: creating interactive electronics, working with interactive software, working with and building sensors, learning how to link sensors to a computer to trigger sound and video, using suitable computer programmes for interactivity, how to control things in the "real" world through a computer, working and modifying "available technology": such as video and cd players bought in high street shops, how to create interactive work on a tight budget. There are two aspects to the Technical Skills Lab: 1) The Awareness and Possibilities Workshop a three hour group introductory session based at the ICA, London If you need technical assistance to realise your creative aims this regular support and training lab is for you. On hand are experts in electronic engineering, sound production and interactive and time based media to introduce what is possible with technology and suggest ways that you can realise technical-based projects. Each workshop will supply expert advice and support to the group as a whole and provide an opportunity to share ideas and technical solutions with other creatives. The group leaders will identify common needs between the participants and subsequently tailor the workshop to their requirements. 2)The Project Consultancy hour long one-to-one sessions The consultancies are an opportunity to focus on your individual needs for a technology-focused artistic project..
