Artificial Avatars

Dear all,

Has anyone used AI technology in the creation of dance performances?

Apologies if there are some glaringly obvious participants in the field that
I have not yet encountered - my background is not intrinsically dance
theory.

Are there any autonomous performers that "learn" basic movement from both
specific user interfaces and pre-programmed physical behaviour. Of
particular interest is the key principals of physical dance movement that an
automaton would need to learn and the features that a choreographer would
like to have to control such a performance.

Thanks in advance,

Richard Widgery
