AMERICAN DANCE FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR
DANCING FOR THE CAMERA:
INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF FILM AND VIDEO DANCE

DURHAM, N.C.—The American Dance Festival (ADF) is currently seeking
entries for the seventh annual Dancing for the Camera: International
Festival of Film and Video Dance. This year, the festival will be
awarding Certificates of Distinction to works the judges feel merit
special recognition.

Submissions should focus in the following areas:

1) Choreography for the Camera—original work made specifically for video
or film or re-staged for the camera;
2) Documentaries—productions which include interviews or other
educational elements in addition to choreography;
3) Experimental and Digital Technologies—work that extends the
boundaries of dance and can exist only in video, film or new
technologies, and
4) Student Work—for submissions produced while the filmakers were
students or submissions produced by current students.

The deadline for entries is Friday, March 1, 2002 at 6 PM. Entries
should be submitted to Rebekah Shoaf at ADF, 1697 Broadway, Room 900,
New York, New York 10019. Directed and curated by Douglas Rosenberg,
Dancing for the Camera is scheduled for one weekend during the American
Dance Festival, which will take place June 6-July 20, 2002 on the campus
of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Dancing for the Camera is free and open to the public. For more
information or to receive an application, please visit the ADF website
at www.americandancefestival.org or call Rebekah Shoaf at (212)
