COSIGN 2001 thanks and proceedings

I would just like to offer belated thanks to Palindrome for the excellent
performance and presentation that gave at COSIGN 2001.

Our aim with the conference was to provide an interesting and stimulating
crossover between artistic, commercial and academic practice and I think
that Palindrome's presentation of "Seine hohle Form" was a crucial part of
this. Not only did it offer new approaches to the creation of more complex
and subtle video sensor based dance works, but it also resonated strongly
with several of the other presentations. There was, for example, a clear
crossover between it and other presentations by researchers using other
forms of sensor technology or working on systems that analysed the content
of video.

I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that the proceedings
of the COSIGN 2001 conference are now available for downloading at the
following address:

You can download the entire proceedings or just the papers that interest
you. If you want to purchase an official, ready-printed copy of the
proceedings from CWI - please contact Marja Hegt <Marja.Hegt@cwi.nl> for
information about this.

We have decided to hold a second COSIGN conference in 2002, and will be
posting the call for papers to this mailing list once again. If anyone wants
it sent directly to them, they should email me.
