Mark, Your email brings tears to my eyes. I really appreciate your sharing your experience, and wish I could have been there to heal with members of my dance family. Out here in LA, I, too, showed a piece this week, in preparation for a public performance project I am creating with the MTA out here in LA--the soundscape and video backdrop of the piece was made in the NYC subway system. I am glad I didn't have to muster the courage for a public showing--it was a private showing--and am frankly astounded and cheered by the heart and soul you guys had to defy the ugliness around you and make your statement of beauty and creativity. I, too, was struck by how the events of the week altered my work. I had gotten tired of the piece, but it suddenly became infused with new poetry. Anyways, all this is a long way of saying that my heart goes out to you guys, as well as my admiration. diane
