Some of this discussion about what is dance, particularly in reference to animation is parallel to the discussion of such references to leaves, or shadows or bees dancing. We often use the word "dance" to refer to certain types of movement, whether human or otherwise, but we tend to "reserve" it in another way when referring to the art form, although we have difficulty really drawing the distinction when we are asked. I think the people in who are developing the field of bioaesthetics may have to talk to those working in artificial intelligence to get us on the track. The former see at being part of human evolution, while the latter are working to bring technology closer to humanity. The result might prove very interesting.
