1b. Internationale Sommertanzwochen Wien, Vienna, Austria
The European scholarship program for contemporary dance,
"danceWEB," will award 50 grants to young dancers and choreographers who
are looking to start an international career in dance, having completed
their dance education. The young talents will be fostered during a
5-week intensive training program, directed by Mark Tompkins in Vienna,
july 12 - august 15, 2001. The scholarship also involves participation
in the PRO SERIES 2001, training on the Coaching Project, participation
in seminars at the Internationale Sommertanzwochen Wien, free tickets
for all productions of the IMPULS Tanz 2001 festival and free
accommodation in Vienna for the duration of the scholarly program.
danceWEB is financed by the EU and Austrian arts programs,
international foundations and sponsors. Applicants must be dancers or
choreographers aged 20 to 28. Closing date for application is march 15,
