Dear all on the list - just to let you know what we are up to...
Early last year we made the difficult decision to give up our Greenwich
studios and disperse to different corners of the continent leaving
Barriedale Operahouse with something of an uncertain future.
Six months later we are happy to tell you that Barriedale is back on track
although as yet we have no studio or mailing address, just email and a
website. Here is some news about current and future projects.
Performances:
ProsXima¹s Drift
A bit of non-linear choreography in the sun. Prosxima Dance Company
commissioned this work by Michael Klien and Nick Mortimore to have a look at
this whole non-linear thing. Six dancers are involved in this piece which
premiers at the Ergostasio Theatre, Athens on the 27th March.
Nodding Dog
Nodding Dog is a large-scale dance production for the Vienna Volksoper, in
co-operation with Tanztheater Wien, which premiers on the 20th of Dec. 2001.
This piece involves 15 dancers and 11 musicians and is choreographed by
Michael Klien, Nicholas Mortimore and Davide Terlingo. Live acoustic and
electronic Music by Volkmar Klien, visuals by Rafal Kosakowski.
Watch out for further announcements.
Duplex
Michael Klien has been commissioned to choreograph this piece for Ballett
Frankfurt. It will be premiered in spring 2002
The structure of this Pas de Deux will be entirely created in real-time
using BOH¹s software prototype: the ChoreoGraph. Duplex offers an insight
into the possibility of non-linear choreography working in conjunction with
technology.

organise SHIFTS for 2002 and would very much like to find a
venue/organisation to host this conference, which has a look at contemporary
choreography, technology and related stuff. Inquiries directly to us.
