In addition, expertise in one or more of the following: dance pedagogy, technique, choreography, improvisation, technology, somatic studies. <bold><underline>Responsibilities</underline> </bold>Teach and develop dance history curriculum. Teach courses in other areas of expertise in studio and/or pedagogy. Develop and teach general education courses. Oversee student dance teachers, participate as academic advisor, fulfill involvement in departmental activities as assigned. The opportunity exists to choreograph work for presentation in departmental productions and to participate in the development of the Nikolais Louis Collection for use on the web. <bold><underline>Description</underline> </bold>The School of Dance enrolls approximately 65 majors and minors and offers a BFA in modern dance performance and choreography with a full complement of courses in kinesiology, history, and music. The School produces a minimum of six concerts per year and a senior tour. Housed in the College of Fine Arts, the School is an accredited institutional member of NASD. The Alwin Nikolais/Murray Louis Collection is now part of Ohio University Libraries Special Collections and will be available soon for classroom use and research.
