<x-flowed>I believe that art, is an expression of emotion and feelings. It is the pure expression of anything, a representation. Being not only a dancer but a painter/artist... I feel that when an "artist" performs or expresses, it should be up to that person what is expressed, but it is entirely up to the audience if it is perceived as art. ----------------------- I disagree with this to a point. I view any expression of performance art as a means of communication, which means there needs to be a sender and a receiver. Dance is a different means of communication from our standard verbal form, relaying higher-order emotions and feelings, but it is still communication. As someone who makes use of music and dance as a means of praise and worship to G-d, I believe that G-d can be an intended audience, even if no other humans are present in the performance space, thus completing a simple communication dyad. If we are to look at this from a point of interactive art--anytime there is interaction, there is some sort of higher-order communication. Welcome to the world of art.
