The Ballet & Modern Dance Department at Texas Christian University
seeks candidates for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of
Ballet.
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE: MFA OR PH.D with professional
experience preferred, other graduate level degrees considered. Two
years of university teaching experience at the undergraduate and
graduate level are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach courses in all levels of ballet technique,
pointe, variations, choreography and dance history. Active pursuit of
research/creative activity, choreograph for student concerts, serve on
all levels of university committees, advise dance majors and be of
service to the field. Other areas of expertise of interest should
include: technology, aesthethics, dance research methods, kinesiology
and dance in education.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
STARTING DATE: August 16, 2000
GENERAL INFORMATION: TCU is a major teaching and research institution
with a focus on the individual. The Ballet & Modern Dance Department
has over seventy majors and five full time faculty members. The Fort
Worth/Dallas area offers rich cultural opportunities. Major dance
touring companies and cutting edge performers are presented in concert
regularly.
