La Mue de l'Ange

A fascinating network performance of electronic art.

A spatio-temporal experience where present, past and future collide in a
single epidermic relationship.

A world of perceptions that disturbes the psyche.

Two sites, two dancers connected by the open space of the network,
stretching their skin, their electronic flesh in a ritual worthy of the
XXIst century.

Ms. Isabelle ChoiniËre and Le Corps Indice invite you to the presentation
of the latest version of La Mue de l'Ange given during the Cinars event at
10:00 PM on November 29 and 30 at the ThÈ’tre ProspÈro - La VeillÈe.
Incontestable pioneer and visionary of the post-modernist performing arts,
Isabelle ChoiniËre gives us stunning performances where living arts and
electronic arts merge admirably together since 1994. Communion, the
previous show of Le Corps Indice encountered resounding international
success thanks to its thematic relevancy as well as its fine and subtle
integration of the electronic medias to the body issue.

Rosita Boisseau cultural journalist for the prestigious French newspaper Le
Monde described Mrs. ChoiniËre as a " Sorcerer's apprentice of the cyber
age". The Quebecker journalist, Martin CÙtÈ, presented her as a
"cyberstar". AndrÈe Martin, journalist for Le Devoir, qualified Isabelle's
creation of " theatrical poetry worthy of the XXI century". The New York
Time, Canary Island and Brazilian newspapers were completely seduced by her
originality and audacity.

La Mue de l'Ange, the latest creation of Isabelle ChoiniËre and her team of
conceptors, integrates gestual creation, video, infography and
electroacoustic through network and in an interactive way.

The work questions the problematic of the network and its impact on the
real body. The interpenetration of worlds, the opening of temporality, the
explosion of the boundaries, the new types of relational and perceptual
spaces inevitably bring a new reflection out. What about the body when it
is projected in this medium? What about the consciousness of the whole over
the real spaces, the electronics bodies ritualized and the sacred moving
towards new technology?

This network performance introduces a demiurge like fantasy :
trans-appearency of things, omnipresence from afar, electro-magnetic
telekinesis. From that comes a novator and unique stage writing where the
body and technology answer and stimulate each other at a formal as well as
organic and philosophical levels.

The electronic art performance La Mue de l'Ange pushes the integration of
artistic languages that it stages to high refinement. Here,
interdisciplinarity takes sense: it operates a real mutation of languages
and the entirety of the creation allows the emergence of a new apprehension
of the artistic and philosophical issues provoked by the encounter of the
living arts and the electronic arts.

In October 1999 La Mue de l'Ange, was given as a work in progress and has
already been welcome by both the public and the critics. The piece that
will be presented on November 29 and 30 has been deeply transformed. La Mue
de l'Ange is now coming to maturity.
