Double Happiness by Bodies in Flight & Spell#7

>From web page to theatre stage....

Who cares if she's on the other side of the planet when your text-message
finger gets twitchy?

International 21st century cyber-love is downloaded into performance as the
UK's Bodies in Flight and Singapore's Spell#7 move there romantic web drama,
Double Happiness, from www.doublehappines2.com to Contact on Saturday 21
October as part of [inter:face].

Shygirl17 meets 6wasabe9 in a chat room. Fluffboy visits Hunny.Bunny's
website. Love blossoms in cyber-space. But what happens when they brave
time-zones and economy class, travelling to the other side of the world in
order to get fleshy with each other?

Double Happiness offers a double experience for spectators. The virtual
romances and the path of on-line love can now be followed at
www.doublehappines2.com, before the performance.

Double Happiness looks at what distance means today and what it means to be
apart. In a world of webcam and mobile - what is togetherness? And if you're
on-line with your own private chat room, do you really need a hotel room?
Real life's messy and potentially deadly, so perhaps its better to stay
online. This unique collaboration explores the use of web technology, chat
rooms, mobile and e-mail for long distance relationships. Using a mix of
text, movement, sonic and video imagery, WEBness and WAPness are distilled
into a distinctly modern take on relationships.
