An Interactive Web Performance in d-minor

Pulse Reaction is a project created by students in the Interarts and
Technology (Iatech)
Program in the University of Wisconsin's Dance Department at Madison.
Pulse
Reaction was developed collaboratively with students, under the direction
of Visiting
Artist Neil Rolnick, and will be premiered at 8pm Central Time (9pm
Eastern Time) ,
Saturday, October 14th, 2000. The theatrical performance will be in the
H'Doubler
Performance Space on the 3rd floor of the Lathrop Building on the UW
Madison
Campus. The webcast performance will be available from this site. Pulse
Reaction
involves music, dance and video, and will provide an opportunity for
interaction by
viewers on the web.
The entire concert on the evening of October 14 will be viewable and
listenable from this
site. It will begin with a performance of Neil Rolnick's Requiem Songs -
for the victims
of nationalism (1993) with singers Sara Guttenberg and Christine
Buchstead, followed
by a selection from Rolnick's in-progress musical theater work with
writer Larry
Beinhart, The Rise & Fall of Isabella Rico, and ending with the
premiere of Pulse
Reaction (at about 8:30 CDT).
