This is a large task that you have set yourself, but a valuable one to
the field. Good luck with it and please post a note when you have compiled it
saying how we might gain access to it (UMI, etc.). I suspect I am not the only
one out here who would be interested. Such a history is, as you seem to suspect,
still relatively anecdotal among those working in this area. I seem to remember
seeing a couple of things published (electronically, I think) that might be
helpful to you, but I don't recall where and I am away from my "stuff" at the
moment. Others may be able to point you in the right direction. How about it,
