Hello everyone,
Florida State University may be in the market for a Dance and Technology Specialist in the near
future. This would be a new fulltime staff position and probably not a faculty position.

The immediate needs we have for this person to cover are as follows and in no particular order:

* Take over as Web Master. We have a departmental web site and an Intranet communication system to
be over hauled and mantained. This includes online audition applications, almumni contact list,
scholarship applications, and A/V databases.

* Over see the computer lab. Mac based right now. Programs used include Laban Writer, Life Forms,
Poser, Strata Studio, Director, Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut (coming soon) and others.

* Life Forms will be worked into existing classes and some student instruction will be involved.

* Administer our network.

* Instruct and assist faculty, staff, and student with all computer training, questions,
troubleshooting, etc.

* Video documentation recording, editing, and cataloging

* Suggest, budget, and maintain departmental computer hardware and software.

* Consult and assit in the establishment and possibly in the operation of motion capture in the future.

* Consult and assist in performance technologies.

* Dream, design, and implement future dance technologies

OK, now the big question:
Any idea on salary required and the size of the pool of talent to draw from?

Thank you all in advance for your responses
Russell
