Digital Summer [inter:face]
29 sept - 22 oct - Manchester, UK

*************************************************************************

[inter:face] is the third annual showcase of creative work presented in
Manchester by Digital Summer
- downloaded into autumn and programmed under a new name.

Running from 29 September to 22 October, [inter:face] takes the latest
on-the-edge technologies and imaginatively explores their use in vibrant
participatory performance and art pieces. Encompassing theatre, sculpture,
music and much more, [inter:face] opens new worlds which enable you not
only to engage in, but also to help dictate the artistic outcomes.

For 2000[inter:face] looks at space - private, public, virtual and outer!
Featured in venues across the city centre, highlights include: The Wave
Factory by Paul Friedlander, an awe inspiring 20 foot high interactive
light sculpture; Desert Rain by Blast Theory, the unique participatory
computer game/performance; and a stellar music work with visual
installation by The Pulsar Project, entitled Its a Beautiful Night From
Here to The Trembling Stars.

We kick off THIS WEEK with Function by Municipal Constructions - a free
performance installation in the deserted Victoria Baths on Hathersage Road
[Fri 29/Sat 30 Sept from 8pm].

Look out too for on-line interventions - eavesdrop into transglobal
romances via Bodies in Flight and Spell#7's http://www.doublehappines2.com
or experience a series of geographically specific webcasts accompanying
