The vibrant and innovative Dance Program at the University of
WisconsinMadison is happy to announce openings for Guest Artist

In the areas of dance, multimedia performing art, and/or interarts and
technology, residencies may involve teaching, performing, the
creation of a new work, and/or a lecture demonstration. Residencies
may last from one week to three weeks depending on the project
involved. Artist applicants should be experienced and established
in their respective areas. In the past four years the Guest Artist
Residency program has featured artists such as Joe Chavala, Molissa
Fenley, Sherone Price, Janis Brenner, Bill T. Jones, Danis Perez Prades,
June Finch, Sean Curran, Gloria McClean, Clyde Morgan, Lisa Naugle, Wendy
Woodson, and Pat Catterson. The Dance Program has celebrated yearlong

performances, lectures, and master classes. It hosted the first National
Dance and Technology Conference and Dance for the Camera Symposium.
We invite you to apply and help make our dance program even richer in its

Madison, WI 53706

In 1926, under the leadership of Margaret H’Doubler, UWMadison became the
first university to offer a degree program in dance. The program
has graduated many students who have gone on to lead and teach at other
university dance programs and to become founders and members of major
dance companies. In 1990 the Dance Program established the cutting
edge interarts and technology (IATECH) major, integrating computer and
video technologies with movement, sound and visual arts. The IATECH
program is currently a leader in this exciting new field, expanding the
frontiers of media and the arts in both practice and performance.
The Dance Program is located in recently remodeled Lathrop Hall.
Facilities include the new state of the art Margaret H’Doubler
Performance Space, four dance studios, video and sound labs and a black
box multimedia performance lab.
