The list is huge and has lots of 'depends...' attached to it.  It 
really depends on what you're looking for.  Personally I use BigEye 
(while half the readers groan).  It's cheap, works well for what I 
want it do BUT you must learn its scripting language, without which 
it is fairly basic and uninteresting.  It tooke me a year or more to 
get anything 'good' out of it, but now I've been working with it for 
more than four years, and it's a powerful instrument.

Good idea, but let's not re-invent the wheel.  Let's instead update 
the dance and technology zone (art.net/~dtz).  This was an excellent 
resource but I think has been a bit neglected by the community of 
late.  It's probably time to revisit and all send updated info, yes?
