hello I am currently inishing up an MFA @ Ohio State in choreography and technology. From what I understand, ours is one of the stronger programs out there, still it has it's plusses and minuses... we have tremendous access to really great equipment and more and more of us are interested in working with technoloogy - so there is a sense of teamwork and support. Victoria Uris - long time dance on camera person - and Johannaus Birringier are both on faculty. I feel like as this is a realitvely new program that there are still some kinks being uironed out but things get better quickly - noticbly from term to term. OSU has some strong points of view about things like composition and while you may be encouraged to 'do your own thing, it can feel like there is not really much support - again, things get better as you go into your third year and are working on your thesis project. sooo i am not really certain what all you wanted to know - you are welcome to send back to me if you've further questions. best jamie jewett --- Todiane4@aol.com wrote: > I have a two-fold inquiry for the list. > (As some of you know already) I am a > performer/choreographer and have in the > past year or so been exploring in particular both > choreography for the camera > and dance in conjunction with computer technology. > I would like to take my > explorations beyond the range of my own experimental > collaborations and > performance to a broader arena in which I can have > more direct exchange with > colleagues, as well as access to new technological > tools. > So, I'd like to have feedback on: > > 1) Graduate level programs in America and Europe > that you think have strong > "dance/performance-tech" tracks.
