Intensities: Praxis and the Body
A Symposium on Practice-Based Research.
30. September-1. October 2000, Alsager

Intensities provides a platform to share and discuss current
practice-as-research projects in the Performing/Live Arts. Postgraduate and

effects on our disciplines.
Intensities is framed by keynotes from Dr. Lizbeth Goodman, Director of the
Institute for New Media Performance Research at Surrey University, Dr. Susan
Melrose, Rose Bruford College, and Prof. Mike Pearson, Aberystwyth
University. On Saturday evening, PhD candidate Anna Fenemore will launch the
practice component of her work at MMU, The Pigeon.

Research students, supervisors and interested artists and academics are
invited to the event. Cost: £20 for registration and dinner, £15 for
accommodation, limited availability.

The symposium also invites artists interested in pursuing practice-based
research to inform themselves about this exciting field, and to discuss
potential projects with the research staff at Alsager, MMU. Some funds for
