In May, the Dance Notation Bureau is commemorating its Diamond anniversary with a party to celebrate 60 years of continuing life for dances and the people who made it happen. DNB has documented over 600 dances by more than 160 choreographers. The party will be held on May 22, 2000 at The Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse, Samuel B. and David Rose Building, 70 Lincoln Center Plaza (165 West 65th Street), New York, NY 10023. The celebration will begin with an awards presentation at 6:30 p.m. The John Martin Memorial Award will be presented to 6 women who have played leadership roles at the DNB and continued to support it even after leaving the staff: Ann Hutchinson Guest, Lucy Venable, Muriel Topaz, Maria Grandy, Alice Moorhead and Ilene Fox. There will also be special recognition of The Dance Notation Bureau Extension for Education and Research at The Ohio State University, major donors, past recipients of the DNB Distinguished Service Award, past and present board members and notators. The awards presentation will be followed by a cocktail party. This party will be an opportunity for all those who have been students, employees, supporters and admirers of the DNB to share memories of the past 60 years and hear plans for the future. For ticket information, please contact the DNB at 212/564-0985 or dnbinfo@mindspring.com. Please come and be a part of history as we celebrate the last 60 years and look forward the next 60. ____________________________________________________ Ilene Fox, Executive Director Dance Notation Bureau 151 West 30th Street, Suite 202 New York, NY 10001 Phone: 212/564-0985; Fax: 212/904-1426 notation@mindspring.com www.dancenotation.org
