For those of you in the New York City area on April 10th, a free concert of live electronic music will include an interactive dance piece by Curtis Bahn and Tomie Hahn. The piece, entitled "Streams," utilizes sensors placed on the dancers body, allowing her to freely improvise sound through movement. General announcement: The Interactive Arts Performance Series at New York University will present a concert on April 10, 2000, at 8 pm in the Frederick Loewe Theatre, 35 W. Fourth St., at 8 pm. This concert inaugurates a year-long collaboration between NYU, the iEAR studios of RPI, and Harvestworks in exploring new artistic uses of internet-2 technologies. Featured on the April 10 show will be Neil B. Rolnick's group Fish Love That, an interactive improvisation led by Curtis Bahn (with Tomie Hahn and Satoshi Takeishi), and Robert Rowe's composition for flute and interactive electronics Color and Velocity.
