Artists' Television Access presents:

4TH EVENING OF VIDEO DANCE

Friday, January 21 8:30pm $5-10
992 Valencia (@ 21th), San Francisco

Jumping into the new year searching for international connections we have
the pleasure to welcome two European artists working at the intersections
of dance and film/video, Ami Skanberg-Dahlstedt from Sweden, and Rachel de
Boer from Holland. From Ami Skanberg-Dahlstedt (director, choreographer and
dancer) we will screen her fiction film debut "The dancer - a fairy-tale"
1999 (48 min). Starring a group of dancers from Sweden it is a fabulous
film about the dancer in reality, and just had its American premiere at the
Dance for the Camera Festival in NY. Plus "Tuvstarr, her beloved and the
bald Quasimodo" 1995, which received a honorary mention in Video Danse
Grand Prix in Paris 1996. Rachel de Boer (video artist and video-jockey),
also Floating Video, does collaboration and live interactions with
musicians, DJs, choreographers/dancers, and other artistic disciplines. We
will be screening, "Time" 1997, a text, movement, and sound collage
processed through LEGO a computer system, "PROUD 2BE LOUD" 1997-98, live
video performance for dance production with choreographer Nicole Caccivio
from Switzerland, and "LOKUS kein ort nerginds" 1999, a dance film with
choreographer Marguerite Donlon from Ireland. Discussion with Rachel de
Boer follows. Curated by Isabel Valverde.

Thanks,
Isabel Valverde
